The Road to Men's Summit

Wholeness — Healthy Men are Whole and Holy

April 22, 2023

“Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit, and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.”

I Thessalonians 5:23

Today, as we continue our devotion in preparation for Men’s Summit, I want to talk to you briefly about wholeness, being a healthy whole and holy man. To do this, God has set you and I apart to walk in wholeness in our body, soul, and spirit.

“Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit, and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.”
I Thessalonians 5:23

This is the finished work of Jesus on the Cross, calling all of us to live in complete wholeness in Him.

Because Jesus’ work on the cross saves us from sin, we also have from the penalties of shame, death, and the grave. In turn, we are renewed to wholeness in our bodies, our souls, and our spirits. But, this is a calling we must choose to accept.

There are many things that oppose our calling to live whole, healthy and holy lives. As we prepare ourselves for Men's Summit, let me encourage you to find one thing to set aside to make room for greater wholeness that God can bring into your life at Men’s Summit.

“Therefore since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the rate God has set before us.”
Hebrews 12:2

What could be that one thing for you? Could it be a distraction like television or golf? Could it be an unhealthy relationship? Could it be social media? What is the one thing for you that you may be able to set aside for a greater experience of the wholeness and health that God has called you to?

We know God is going to do great things through you! Let’s pray in unity as we approach Men’s Summit:

“God, thank You for calling us as men and setting us apart to be whole and healthy in our body, soul and spirit. We know this wholeness and freedom we walk out daily with You by faith. Highlight the things in our lives that we can lay aside to make room for Your wholeness. In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.”
