Standing Firm

The Road to Men's Summit

Battle Ready — Armor of God

April 24, 2023

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

Ephesians 6:11

I want to share a very quick but very important topic today: the armor of God.

Did you know that our God doesn’t always give you what you want, but he will always provide you what you need? Paul tells us twice in Ephesians 6 to equip ourselves with the armor of God, especially as we stand against the influence of evil.

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
Ephesians 6:11

“Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground…”
Ephesians 6:13

Paul didn’t say this back-to-back because it was a suggestion, he said it because it was a command. God equips us with His armor because He knows we need it every single day to overcome the attacks of the enemy.

Remember, you and I are made in the image of God. Because of that, the devil cannot stand us. We resemble the God that he can never be.

The enemy will come up with ways to distract us and discourage us from being everything God has called us to be. As we get closer to Men’s Summit, I believe those are some of the attacks that will come our way. If so, then let’s put on the full armor of God so that we can be victorious!

If you were to go into a battle with no armor, weapons, or any other form of protection, would you not be going into a battle destined to lose? It is only with the armor of God that we can go into battle knowing our victory is certain!

Men, we are just a few days away from Men’s Summit and we can’t wait to see you there! We’ve been praying and fasting for you and your families, and for everything that God is going to do. As we all get ready, receive this prayer with one another:

“God, thank You for every one of Your sons. Thank you for what we’re going to do and what we’re going to experience at Men’s Summit. Lord, I just ask that You protect our minds and thoughts from distractions and discouragement, and that we can come receive everything that You want to do with us and through us at Men’s Summit. In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.”
