The Road to Men's Summit

Resurrection – How Does This Change How I Live?

April 20, 2023

“For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was.”

Romans 6:4–5

I realize that the cross of Calvary might have been the final word, but I believe the resurrection of Jesus was the exclamation point and the end of the sentence!

As we approach the opening night of Men’s Summit, I want to encourage you to prepare your heart to receive the resurrection power of God. The cross brought us forgiveness and salvation, and without it we would be doomed to an eternity of separation from God. But the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins was only half of God’s redemptive plan for mankind – He knew we needed the POWER to live as sons of God after our salvation! Jesus didn’t stay in a tomb, He rose again proving that He is the Son of God, and through His resurrection we have been given the power to:

Be holy husbands to our wives.

Be faithful fathers to our children.

Be successful servants to our employer.

Be submissive sons to our parents.

Be kind companions to our friends.

Be a lasting light to a dark world!

“For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was.”
Romans 6:4–5

“I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death…”
Philippians 3:10

So like Paul, let us want to know Christ not only as the one who saved us from sin, but let us also desire to know Him as the one who gives His people the power of His resurrection!

“Father, today I ask that You fill me with the resurrection power of Christ that I might live the life You want me to live as Your son. Help me to know Christ and experience this power in my life as a man in Your blessed Kingdom. In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.”
