The Road to Men's Summit

Dunamis — Power Received

April 21, 2023

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

Today, on the road to Men’s Summit, we are going to pray about POWER. As men, we want to feel strong and powerful. We live in a world that requires power in some shape or form to run and function.

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8

We read that we receive power through the Holy Spirit. In fact, we can only live the life God has called us to live with the help of the Holy Spirit. He gives us the power to not only be witnesses, but to live as we should and make good and Godly choices.

Raw power is not enough. Think about the most powerful engine in a car. It could be big, bad and make a lot of noise, but if there is no transmission in the car, there will be no forward motion. That’s what applying God’s Word does — It gives our lives, our thoughts and our hearts the direction and forward motion we need.

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12

As you are on the road to Men’s Summit, I want to remind you that you are God’s beloved son. Through Him you are more than a conquer (Romans 8:37), and through HIM you can do all things (Philippians 4:13). Invite the Holy Spirit to fill and guide you today.

“Holy Spirit, I pray that you will fill me today. Help me to walk as I should. Lead and guide me in every meeting, every conversation and every decision. Lord, help me to be aware and sensitive to your presence and leading. I put myself in alignment with your Word and receive the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.”
