The Road to Men's Summit

Testify — People Must Know

April 27, 2023

“Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.”

Philippians 1:14

Men, today’s devotional is all about your mission. Today is the day that mission and Men’s Summit begins. Today, and in the days to come, people will know God’s unconditional love and redeeming power for them through your story. As we head into Men’s Summit, you will encounter men who may be struggling with the very thing you’ve been healed from and they will find freedom because of your story!

“Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.”
Philippians 1:14

Each one of us has a story to tell. Yours might be how you battle with addiction.  Maybe yours is about how your marriage seems hopeless. It could be about how a broken relationship with your son, your daughter, or even your dad has hurt you deeply. Or maybe, like my own, yours is about falling into religious legalism, twisting your view of God into that of a mean one who was constantly disappointed in you for not measuring up.

But our stories didn’t end in a dark place of helplessness. Our Lord reached down his hand for you and I to deliver, to heal, to redeem, to forgive, to save and to love us. When we found community with other men and were vulnerable and open, we understood our purpose to tell others that we are loved sons of God created for His Glory! Today and in the days to come, when you share your story about who you were and how He changed you, men will see that they are not alone and they will discover God’s unconditional love for them, not for who they think they are, but who God says they are in Him.

“‘Return home and tell how much God has done for you.’ So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.”
Luke 8:38-39

Today, your story MUST be told because People MUST know the glory of God and the love He has for them. Let us agree in prayer:

“Father, we thank You that our story didn’t end in a dark and hopeless place. You redeemed us and loved us. Help us to speak boldly about your love. In Jesus’s Name,

Amen.”
