Standing Firm

The Road to Men's Summit

Live It Out

Win The War

April 25, 2024

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

Ephesians 6:10-12 NLT

For the past few weeks, we’ve heard some profound truths to help us reshape our beliefs as men of God. All of these revelations have pushed and equipped us to understand what it means to Stand Firm. Now is the time to use them all to motivate ourselves and begin to live out these truths every day.

When I was 19, I was sent on a mission to preach the Gospel in a village where all the locals vehemently rejected Jesus. Completely devoid of any modern amenities and surrounded by violence, I was faced with daily threats and demands to leave the village. However, because I believed in the Lord’s plan to redeem many of them, I harbored no fear. I believed that God had a divine purpose for that village and that purpose had led me there. I preached humbly and fervently, and after much persistence, nearly 90 percent of the village embraced Jesus. To this day, many of them now serve as pastors and evangelists!

I believe that many of us, as mature as we are, have lost urgency in sharing God’s Word. However, it is time to reclaim that urgency! Though we all have different giftings, we all have the same calling: to proclaim His name in faith! It is true that the enemy is crafty and clever in his destruction; he works to distract and tempt us away from pursuing the call. He makes us think this the world is too fallen to restore back to Christ. When the enemy lies to us, then is the time to stand firm and not falter in our faith.

It's easy to surrender in moments of weakness. But just as you’ve been encouraged to press on in your own life and in the lives of your family and loved ones, press on for the sake of God’s kingdom on earth. We are facing a spiritual war, and the way to be victorious is by drawing from God, our source of strength, and spreading the Good News in faith!

We know that the Bible tells us we will succeed in this war. It is by the blood of Christ and the word of our testimony that victory is certain. But the war must still be fought. Today, march forward into God’s calling. As men of God, rise and Stand Firm!

Prayer

Jesus, You are the reason we are all here right now. You are the reason we live, and the reason we have a purpose greater than what we could ever come up with ourselves. Today, I choose to stand firm in Your promise for Your people. I will not back down from sharing Your Word. I will fight until the end, and I will make Your victory known! In Your name, I pray, Amen.
